It is often said that bioinformatics will take the lead of life sciences. In fact, bioinformatics has already become an essential area of study in elucidating programs of life. Despite its significance, however, the foundation of the bioinformatics education has been insufficient in our country, compared with the foundation for bioinformatics research. To realize a world-leading education system, integration of multiple academic areas and preparation of introductory courses are in urgent need.
